Ihto Daalderop unites two worlds in one strong company since 2011. With branches in Tiel, Schiedam and Sint-Niklaas (Belgium), Itho Daalderop is a well-known international player on the installation market. The world of Itho (founded in 1919) is that of ventilation systems, central heating and hot water equipment. Daalderop (founded in 1880) has been the market leader in the field of water heaters and supplier of boilers, innovative heating equipment and boiling water applications for a long time.
How do you get the articles from two large companies efficiently and reliably in one product database? Daan van der Pligt, staff member Information and Communication Technology, explains: 'Itho has been working together with Compano since 2005 to ensure that the data is made accessible. When Itho and Daalderop merged, it soon became clear that the mutual products complemented each other well. There were almost no doubles entries, so to speak. Of course it was a puzzle in the beginning. The employees of Compano have done their best to get everything done, which of course creates trust.
'We now work with 1 underlying SQL database, via Microsoft’s Dynamics AX. With Visual Studio from Microsoft, we export the data to Compano's PIM system. To get a proper export, many fields from our database must exactly match the PIM system. Soon, we will have adjusted the process so that we can export directly from our ERP to Compano's PIM system. Another advantage: all will then be supplemented in accordance with ETIM standards. The world is at our feet: we can fill our own new website perfectly and artikelbeheer.nl can trust our data without any problems. And we now also have Belgium that can benefit from the standardization of our data.'
Finally, Daan van der Pligt mentions the great advantage for him again: 'With the use of Compano's PIM system we do not have to keep all kinds of applications up and running, with updates and the necessary maintenance.'
