What is PIM?

A PIM system is a single central source for product and item information. It allows you to collect, manage, and enrich all product data and assortment information. You can then share this data with customers, websites, data pools, catalogs, or other systems.

In PIM, you will structure digital products by classification, brand, series, type, and range. You will also record information about, for example, the product's life cycle and availability for various customers or channels.

Make your digital product as complete and relevant as possible for the customer. Add additional information such as commercial or technical texts, images, videos, manuals, brochures, certificates, and links to accessories, add-ons, or possible alternatives.

In PIM, you also determine where your digital product will be visible to customers, in publication channels or in other systems. For example, via automatic or manual exports of datasets, publication in data pools, links to websites or web shops, but also as a source for digital catalogs, brochures, product sheets, and price lists. This allows you to achieve consistency and uniformity in the image of your digital product across all desired channels.
